Peter Putman, CTS, ISF
Named InfoComm Educator of the Year


LAS VEGAS, Nev. — June 19, 2008 — InfoComm International, the leading professional audiovisual trade association, presented its Educator of the Year Award to Peter Putman. The event took place at InfoComm 08, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow worldwide, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Peter Putman CTS, ISF, is president of Roam Consulting Inc. of Doylestown, PA and has taught numerous seminars and workshops at InfoComm over the years.  As a Professional Education and Training Committee member for many years, Putman also plays a very active role in selecting programs for InfoComm.

Putman has nearly 35 years of practical experience with RF signal distribution. Pete also conducts extensive tests of digital TV signal propagation, set top receivers and antennas for various magazines.

“Pete Putman is the consummate educator,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International.  “He is extremely knowledgeable, conveys his expertise to students with ease, and is committed to providing the AV industry with training that is relevant and current.”  

The InfoComm International Educator of the Year Award is bestowed upon an InfoComm member who has taught or developed an InfoComm International program, taught an InfoComm International seminar during the Exhibition, and is an InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist (CTS®). This individual has also published industry training/education books, manuals or pamphlets.

The Educator of the Year Award is nominated by InfoComm's Professional Education and Training Committee (PETC) and selected by the InfoComm Board of Governors, to honor an individual who works to develop the skills and knowledge of others in the AV industry. Past Educators of the Year include Paul Depperschmidt, CTS; John Campanella, CTS-D; Roy A. Hermanson, Jr., CTS-D, CTS-I; Mario Maltese, CTS-D, CTS-I; and Gary Kayye, CTS.
